Big News and Giveaway!

Just in time for the 5 for Friday link-up I can finally share my big news!  I'm PREGNANT!!!!

Yippee....happy dance!

I've been going crazy keeping it a secret for the last 3 1/2 months and am so excited to finally have shared the good news with my students and now with you!

My due date is:  November 11th, 2013!  However, I will probubaly have the baby a little earlier.  Rumor on the street is that they usually induce us diabetics if we get to the 38th or 39th week.  With this being my first child I am curious, nervous, and extremely excited to see how it goes.

In class, I revealed my secret message with a quick game of phone tag.  It was a great way to see each students face light up as they found out one by one.

Afterwards I passed out little bottle shaped goodie bags for each student containing candy and a little baby bracelet momento.

We shared some cookie cake and juice, had a few laughs, and ended the day with some outside recess.

And now...time to celebrate.  I'm giving away 3 items from my Teacher Pay Teacher store to 3 lucky teachers since I have finally made it past the 3rd month.

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck!  Link up with your 5 things from the week with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

ooh I just saw I have to leave some advice for a mum to be... well I'm not a mum yet but I was talking to one at school just yesterday and she said when she had her kids she went back to school for about six weeks when they were still quite young and left Dad at home as the stay at home parent... He quickly got an appreciation for what mum's do and acknowledged it was the hardest job in the world. After doing that he would come home from his job every night and immediately take over the parenting duties so she could have a little break (and he has a full on job- he's a detective senior constable so his job isn't exactly a walk in the park, but spending six weeks for each of his kids being the one at home made him realise how hard it is)

Congratulations! Relax and enjoy the moments with your little one! Oh, BALANCE is key. You also need to have some 'me' time else you start losing your sanity! :P

Aww, congratulations! That is so exciting and I can just imagine how excited your 4th graders were. Hmm, I'm not a mom, but I would say leave work and school and just enjoy your time at home.:)

CONGRATULATIONS! What a great way to end the week!

I have two kids (ages 15 & 13)and my best advice would be to enjoy the little moments and try to capture the memories on video. As kids get older, they really enjoy going back and looking at the things they did as little kids. Plus, it's good blackmail! :)

Write letters and make short videos with advice and funny happenings from your pregnancy days to give your child, especially family history stories that usually are forgotten several generations down the line.
